News Update: Says the manager, “world-class.” A Liverpool player had a “painful” injury yesterday night and “couldn’t move.”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Alexis Mac Allister ‘couldn’t move’ after suffering an injury against Sheffield United last night.

Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai’s strikes gave the Reds another victory. They should be quite happy with their hard-fought victory over Chris Wilder’s team, but it is unfortunate that Mac Allister got hurt.

The injury status of Liverpool player Alexis Mac Allister is updated by Jurgen Klopp.

The Liverpool  player Alexis McAllister was the victim of a horrific tackle during the first half of Friday night’s match against Sheffield United.

The Argentine, who joined the Reds from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer, has produced multiple excellent performances in the middle of the park.

Last weekend, he also scored a fantastic goal against Fulham, which Marco Silva described as “world-class” during the match (Fulham’s official website).

Mac Allister suffered an injury last night following a fierce challenge in the first half. At halftime, Liverpool’s physiotherapists strapped him up and closed the wound.

The midfield player entered the game for the second half, but after just fifteen minutes, he was unable to play any further and hobbled out. Jurgen Klopp now states that his “painful” injury prevented him from moving.

According to the official Liverpool website, he stated: “Macca, it was a shame.” He stepped on his knee early, cutting it. We just strapped it as long as the incision was open; it was obviously uncomfortable, but he was still able to play.

After we stitched it, he was unable to move since it had definitely become a little tighter there. We now need to wait and see how long that takes. Hopefully not for too long.

Mac Allister’s injury is a blow for Liverpool

Liverpool’s injury list is a pretty big one right now, and the last thing Jurgen Klopp needed was another player to be sidelined.

For yesterday night’s match at Bramall Lane, the Reds were already missing Andy Robertson, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, and Alisson. There’s also a potential Mac Allister will be sidelined for a short spell.

The Argentine’s ailment isn’t a muscle one, though, so unlike the other players on the list, he may be back to playing very soon.

The following game, which Liverpool plays against Crystal Palace, could be quite difficult. Whether Mac Allister can return in time for that this weekend will be intriguing to watch.
