The Cleveland Browns right tackle Dawand Jones will be sidelined for the rest of the season after he undergoes a season-ending surgery on his knee, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed on Monday. The rookie injured his knee during a practice session last Tuesday.

“I’ve seen Dawand make great strides on and off the field,” Stefanski commented. “I thought he got better as the season went on. Disappointed for him. He played well in a lot of these games.” A fourth-round pick out of Ohio State, Jones has been the Browns’ starting right tackle since Week 2, making his absence a significant blow for the team.

James Hudson III is expected to play in Jones’ stead. Hudson replaced the rookie right tackle during the Browns’ 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Cleveland is also struggling at left tackle, with regular starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. on injured reserve due to a knee setback.
