After the Wests Tigers agreed to a new contract with the prop a few weeks after telling him he was free to leave, Alex Twal appears likely to end his NRL career there.
After receiving the news in September that he may look for a new club for 2024, the diligent forward was linked to both Canterbury and Manly.
However, the 27-year-old has now been re-signed by the Tigers till the end of 2027, representing a 180-degree turnabout.
Earlier this season, Twal broke the longest try-scoring drought in NRL history when he crossed the line against Melbourne in his 115th game.
Tigers Chief Executive Justin Pascoe stated, “We’re delighted to lock in a new long-term deal with Alex and his family.”

Twal has four caps for Lebanon and has participated in 124 games for the Tigers.
Jacob Alick, a PNG international, has had his contract extended by Gold Coast for an additional season.

Forward Alex Twal of the Wests Tigers has made a significant choice regarding his future that will keep him locked up indefinitely.
Twal has signed a new long-term deal with the Wests Tigers, which will keep him with the team until at least the conclusion of the 2027 NRL season. He was previously under contract for the next season.
Twal and the Tigers made their selection after he was said to be connected to the Canterbury Bulldogs and was given permission to negotiate with opposing teams.
Additionally, rumors surfaced connecting him to a possible Sean Keppie player trade with the Manly Sea Eagles. Keppie will probably sign with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, though.
Twal stated in a club release, “This club means so much to me and I’m just so happy to extend my stay long-term.”

The forward joined the Wests Tigers in Round 17 of the 2017 NRL season, and in the seven seasons that followed, he made 124 appearances for the team.
The cult hero, who scored his first NRL try in 2023, has been a reliable prop or lock for the Tigers in recent seasons. Some on the team, meanwhile, believe that the 27-year-old is just not fast enough for the current game.
Despite this, he is a great tutor to a group of young forwards who will be eager to prove themselves in 2024 as the Tigers embark on a new journey led by rookie head coach Benji Marshall.
