GOOD NEWS: Notre Dame’s star cornerback Is Sign By Michigan Football…

In a significant development in college football recruiting, Michiga Football has successfully secured the commitment of four-star cornerback Ivan Taylor from Notre Dame. Sources confirmed to ESPN that Taylor, originally the top prospect for the Fighting Irish’s 2025 class, has decided to join the Wolverines.

and the fifth-best cornerback in his class, Taylor initially committed to Notre Dame on December 1, 2023. The standout athlete from West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida, stands 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds. His switch to Michigan marks a pivotal moment for the Wolverines’ recruiting strategy under head coach Sherrone Moore.

Taylor’s decision to join Michigan is a major victory for the Wolverines, as he becomes the highest-rated player in Moore’s first signing class. The young cornerback, son of former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back and two-time Super Bowl champion Ike Taylor, brings a strong defensive pedigree to the team. Last season, Ivan Taylor recorded 45 tackles, including six for loss, and one interception.

Taylor’s recruitment journey included four visits to Notre Dame before his initial commitment. He also made trips to Alabama and Michigan in June. This recent commitment places Taylor at the forefront of Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class, promising to bolster the team’s defensive lineup.

How Taylor impacts Michigan’s class

This recruiting win has double significance for the Wolverines, who landed one of their top defensive targets while snatching a player away from one of their rivals. Michigan and Notre Dame go head-to-head in recruiting quite frequently, and both programs were in the hunt for  a four-star safety from Winston Salem, N.C., who committed to Notre Dame last week. Michigan got even this week by flipping Taylor, one of the top athletes in the country at his position. The Wolverines also have a commitment from top-100 prospect  but with Winston’s ability to play nickel, there’s a clear role for Taylor in the class as a safety.
