Cats Trio Ink 2024 Deals
Zach Tuohy, Rhys Stanley and Gary Rohan have all recommitted to the Cats
Stanley has been a dependable player for the Cats for the past ten years, despite an eye injury that cut short his 2023 season. In recent years, he has solidified his relationship with Mark Blicavs and taken on the role of mentor for young ruck Toby Conway.
After Steven King, Stanley is presently ranked second all-time in hit-outs for the Geelong Football Club.
Prior to joining Geelong ahead of the 2017 campaign, Tuohy played 120 games over six years for the Blues, shattering the record this year for the most VFL/AFL games played by an Irish-born football player.
The adaptable Tuohy has played 150 games since joining the Cats, and he was a part of both the Cats’ 2022 Premiership team and 2020 Grand Final squad.
Joining the Cats from the Swans in the 2018 Trade Period in exchange for Pick 61, Rohan has played 86 games for the Cats, kicking 111 goals.
An integral piece of a potent forward line, Rohan has established himself at Geelong as a mobile forward with blistering pace and reliability in front of goals.
Rohan was announced as a Development Coach with the Cats AFLW team for the 2023 season and has spent his offseason working with the forward group.
Geelong Cats General Manager – Football Andrew Mackie said the Club was thrilled to have the trio sign on.
“Zach, Rhys and Gary are all influential people and players at our football club. They continue to contribute significantly on-field, and the professionalism and leadership they bring off the field is instrumental to the growth of our younger players and the football program.”
