The most recent Wolves news comes from BirminghamLive, where the Molineux team is connected to a sought-after Brazil Under-20 player.
Three Premier League teams are said to be interested in signing Brazilian defender Lucas Beraldo, with Wolverhampton Wanderers being one of them. According to Fichajes, a number of European clubs are keeping tabs on the Sao Paulo youngster, including Wolves, Liverpool, and Newcastle.
According to the report, the Brazil Under-20 international has also “caught the attention” of Benfica, Monaco, and FC Porto after impressing with his defensive skills, foresight, and ball-carrying abilities. The city of Sao Paulo is aware of the interest and is “carefully evaluating” its next course of action.
Left-footed adolescent who might replace Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk, who are getting older, has reportedly being closely watched by Liverpool. Wolves reportedly had a bid rejected in the last transfer window before they paid £8.5 million to recruit Santiago Bueno from Girona.
In the Campeonato, Beraldo has made 14 starts. Last month, he also began the Copa do Brasil final win over Flamengo. Since his deadline day transfer, Bueno, a player from Uruguay, has made one substitute appearance in the Premier League. Max Kilman, Craig Dawson, and Toti are all available to Gary O’Neil, who used all three in the most recent triumph over Man City.
Wolves have been looking at younger prospects after a change in transfer policy in the last window which saw fees raised on the sale of established names like Ruben Neves and the departure of Adama Traore.
They will be keen to find value wherever they can in the market and with O’Neil alive to the possibilities of playing a back three, more depth could be needed. However, as promising as Beraldo is a seamless transition to the cut and thrust of the Premier League does seem like a long shot at this stage in his career, particularly if he’s going to have to wait for game-time behind Bueno who is waiting for an extended opportunity.
Things could change if Kilman eventually moves on but the defender recently signed a new five-year contract at the club.
