Everton supporters may soon have their wish of a new owner joining the team fulfilled as 777 Partners are reportedly in “advanced talks” to execute a full acquisition, with a possible announcement this week. For almost a year, the Miami-based company has been negotiating with Farhad Moshiri’s agents.

There have been discussions about both minority and majority stake holdings, but according to the Telegraph, 777 Partners is now poised for a full acquisition. As he attempted to sell a 25% ownership in the team this summer, Moshiri had hoped to finance the club with a sizable investment.

Despite being close to reaching an agreement, MSP Sports Capital decided to back out at the last minute due to financial issues with the transaction. This has allowed 777 to rejoin the fray, and it now seems as though they have full rein to complete their takeover of Moshiri.

Everton supporters will be hopeful that the new owners are in place in time for the January transfer window since the negotiations appear to be moving rapidly. Vasco da Gama and Genoa both improved under the American company’s management, giving 777 a good reputation in world football.

Additionally, they don’t lack funds because they reportedly have $6 billion worth of assets under management, or about £4.8 billion. Everton supporters have been pleading for improved spending on the playing team over the previous few years as a result of some bad transactions.

This summer, the Toffees had their eye on a number of top targets, and they made a tidy profit by offloading Moise Kean, Alex Iwobi Demarai Gray, Thomas Cannon, and Ellis Simms. A few high-paid players were also released. The focus will soon shift to who Everton might seek now that it appears likely that a new ownership group will be in place in time for the January transfer window.

Sean Dyche’s club needs goals, and while Beto was added to aid with that, Tammy Abraham was the top target this summer before suffering an injury. The English player is scheduled to return before the end of the year, which might make him available in January as Roma was initially open to receiving proposals.

As the player submitted a transfer request in an effort to force a move to Merseyside, Wilfried Gnonto was also heavily connected with a move to Goodison Park. A trade never materialized, but Gnonto will wish to depart in the January transfer window, and Everton’s new wealth would undoubtedly be able to facilitate a transaction.

Dyche will also seek out more defensive recruits.
