However, this hasn’t prevented Owls fans from having dreams. After a stormy summer that saw Darren Moore depart, several demonstrations against owner Dejphon Chansiri, and Munoz’s dismissal following a winless start to the season, the rookie manager takes over a struggling team. Rohl appears to be the kind of beneficial influence that fans have been waiting for.
Approximately 90% of supporters are pleased with the choice of the former Bayern Munich and Germany coach, according to a poll conducted this week by Yorkshire Live. Interestingly, 78% of respondents believe the club will survive its bad start, and 55% believe Wednesday’s hiring has transformed the team from certain relegation to once again being a contender for the Championship.
We also asked supporters what they thought Rohl should do as his first job in Sheffield, and they didn’t have many demands. Stabilize the ship was the most often chosen response (at 40%), indicating that those who supported it were eager for some stability after a trying few months since promotion.
