In the German’s first game in command over the weekend, the 24-year-old was given the start and played well before being taken off, around five minutes before Yaser Asprilla’s game-winning goal.

Although Wednesday’s plan didn’t work out, Buckley emphasized that if their performances stay at that level, they would start to see results once more after the manager discussed the tie’s good aspects.

The Owls loanee spoke to the reporters over the weekend, “The manager has been very positive and he believes in us.” He’s applying his beliefs to our training, and this week has been quite intense. I believe we tried it, but regrettably we haven’t found any results.

It was always going to be difficult, but we’re ready for the task. There are still a lot of games left. As you can see, there were a lot of advantages. Every game matters, and if we approach them that way, we have every opportunity to succeed.

“Every manager has a different approach to play and other things, but so far, all of the boys have accepted it. To be honest, I felt that we did a fantastic job of pressing today; we managed to turn the crowd against them, which was something we were hoping to do. It’s unfortunate that we were unable to gain any ground.

The side wearing blue and white had a strong work ethic and high press throughout the Vicarage Road exhibition, and this was no accident.

Buckley, who is on loan from Blackburn Rovers, responded, “Intensity, being composed on the ball, having good connections with each other, trusting each other on the ball, not just kicking it forward, things like that,” when asked what Röhl has requested of the players thus far. We simply need to remain together, and if we play that way, there’s no question that we can score points.”

The Owls return to action on Wednesday night as they play a crucial game at the bottom of the Championship league against Plymouth Argyle.
