Leeds United attacker Sonny Perkins, who has just been cut out of the plans, has not received many minutes, according to Oxford United boss Liam Manning.

How is the playing of Sonny Perkins?
Oxford United, who are vying for promotion from League One this season and are currently in second place going into this week’s midweek schedule, was assigned Sonny Perkins for the entire season.
Liam Manning’s team is doing well in the third division, but Perkins’ performance—he has played in just three league minutes—is not the reason for it.
Although he played the entire 90 minutes in the EFL Trophy in their mid-September 1-0 loss to MK Dons, he hasn’t been included in the matchday squad since.
He isn’t playing, why?
U’s head coach Manning explained to Oxford Mail why Perkins hasn’t been included in the squad in recent weeks:
“It didn’t help that Sonny arrived late since the squad was playing well, had gained some momentum, and was winning games.
Naturally, some individuals take credit for things they’ve already accomplished, so it becomes more about exercising patience and refusing to interfere with your training.
Sonny is making improvement in those areas, and if someone is in credit and they want to push my hand, you have to be an eight or nine every day in training.
“He’s getting better in the gym, but we still want more from him. He will still be involved; the question is when.
All he needs to do is make sure he stays working and keeps his head down. We brought him in and encourage him since we are aware of some of his attributes.
“It’s about making sure he reaches the level in training every day, so he’s prepared to step in and seize the opportunity when someone’s level drops or there’s an injury.”

Even while Manning has every right to largely stick with his winning squad, we need to be a little self-centered in our pursuit of maximizing Perkins’ potential.
