THIS IS NOT HAPPENING:Aston Villa was truly taken aback. Last summer, Manchester City failed to sign their £15 million player.

It has been stated that Aston Villa was taken aback when Douglas Luiz was passed over by Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

The Athletic claims that Aston Villa even made preparations for life without the Brazilian, which supports their assertion.

Villa startled Luiz wasn’t resigned by City.
According to The Athletic, Villa turned down four offers from Arsenal for Luiz in August of the previous year.

They reportedly “waited nervously” for City to exercise their option to repurchase the midfield player, though.

When Villa signed Morgan Sanson in January 2021, they were, in fact, preparing for life beyond Luiz.

Once City paid the £30 million clause to re-sign Luiz, the Villains had intended to make more midfield investments, but a transfer never happened.

Naturally, Luiz put an end to rumors of a return to City when he signed a new contract with Villa in November of last year.

However, he is still a desirable option for elite Premier League teams, and his outstanding season-opening performance will further heighten interest.

However, Luiz appears to be content at Villa Park right now and is loving his time with Emery.

In his ten Premier League games this season, he has contributed to six goals. Villa is presently in fifth position.

Under Emery, the Villains are potential of doing great things this season, therefore it would be shocking if Luiz left the team soon.

Prior to the January transfer window, Aston Villa is said to have sent scouts to observe Nicolai Vallys, a striker for Brøndby IF.

With a contract that expires in the summer of 2026, the 27-year-old is playing well for the Danish team. This season, he has scored seven goals in 13 games, and teams all across Europe have taken notice of his recent form.

This includes Villa, who reportedly sent a scout to see him on Sunday, October 29, when he scored the game-winning goal against FC Nordsjaelland from a distance. Brøndby now sits just one point behind FC Copenhagen in second place in the standings.
