Kean Bryan left West Brom in the summer following a protracted fight with a knee ailment, and the defender has now announced his retirement.
After suffering two years of incredibly awful luck with injuries, former West Bromwich Albion defender Kean Bryan has decided to stop his career.
Bryan, who turned 27 on Wednesday, is retiring from football at the age of 27, per medical advise.
Bryan just joined The Hawthorns on a free transfer after leaving Sheffield United in the summer of 2021 to assist in filling in for Dara O’Shea, who was sidelined by injury. Before receiving his first start under Valerien Ismael in a 1-0 victory over Hull City in November of that year, Bryan made a few appearances as a substitute.
However, the former Bury and Manchester City center defender had an ACL injury in the first half that ended his Albion career. Bryan was unable to return to the team before his contract expired in the summer of 2023, despite receiving therapy for more than 18 months.
Now, on his birthday, Bryan follows in the footsteps of another former Alberti
that he has been unable to overcome and has been advised to take a step back from.

Bryan was forced into retirement after a protracted struggle with a knee problem that he has been unable to overcome and has been advised to take a step back from.

“My mother and stepfather, who are no longer with us, traveled across the nation to assist me starting when I was ten years old. I will always be appreciative of all you both did for me. I would want to thank everyone who helped me realize my goal. My younger brother, my two sisters, and they have always been my strongest supporters.
I will never be able to repay my fiancé for all of your support during such a trying time in my life. You have been a rock for me. And of course, my two boys, who, unbeknownst to me, have made this tough choice so much simpler. I sincerely adore you both. I’m excited for what lies ahead in my life. Regards
