good news: After the drama surrounding the summer move, O’Neil must be thrilled with …………..

Max Kilman was one of the players who had interest in Wolves but stayed, and Gary O’Neil will be happy the team didn’t sign him. A number of players departed Wolves in the summer.

Kilman has played every minute of Wolves’ Premier League campaign thus far, being a constant fixture on the field. In the Carabao Cup, he has also made an additional appearance against Blackpool.

Kilman took over as captain at Molineux after Ruben Neves left. It was an extremely proud moment for the 26-year-old, who has worked extremely hard to get to this point, having played for Maidenhead United as recently as 2018. Kilman recently switched to play on the right side of Wolves’ defense, a position he found great joy in when Bruno Lage put him there in the 2021/22 season, and he has looked solid recently. O’Neil and the Wolves officials will be pleased with how he’s doing, especially since there was a chance he could have left in the summer.

Max Kilman could have left Wolves in the summer with Napoli very keen

Wolves are ready to let Max Kilman with Napoli eyeing £35m move| All Football

There was a moment Kilman could have left.

Kilman was seen as a saleable asset, and Wolves needed to make a sizable profit in order to comply with FFP regulations.

Kilman was traded to Italian powerhouse Napoli, who were losing Kim Min-jae to Bayern Munich. They allegedly made Wolves an offer of £30 million for the defender.

Wolves turned it down, but if a better offer had been made, the team would have accepted. It is believed that £40 million would have sufficed (source: Mirror).

In the end, Wolves’ attitude forced Napoli to back down, and Wolves executives will undoubtedly be happy about that right now.

Wolves he can rhave yet to record a clean sheet, so O’Neil will surely want the club to perform better in that area. But aside from those goals given up, Kilman hasn’t actually done anything wrong.

I’m hoping each the level he demonstrated a few seasons back.
