Before January, Wolves are currently “exploring” a deal for a highly regarded £2 million “wonderkid.”

Watch Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. online | YouTube TV (Free Trial)The reported departure of Jose Sa has intensified Wolves’ quest for a custodian in recent weeks.

Last week, it was claimed that Saudi Arabia was reportedly interested in Portuguese custodian Jose Sa, who might cause a shock exit for Wolves.

Many people think Wolves would be crazy to reject the deal because it’s estimated that a fee of £40 million might be obtained from it.

As a result, there have been several rumours connecting Old Gold to a new custodian, suggesting that Jose Sa may be on his way.

Wolves were reportedly interested in promising French custodian Guillaume Restes early this season, while Aaron Ramsdale was linked to them last weekend.

Guillaume Restes | Football TalentsLiam Keen has now hinted that Matt Hobbs and company could want to consider a different young goalie with promise.

Wolves and Rome’s Jayden Owusu-Oduro are connected.

Wolves are ‘exploring’ a deal to sign Rome Jayden Owusu-Oduro, a 19-year-old ‘wonderkid’ custodian, according to Liam Keen of the Express and Star.

It’s thought that AZ would agree to a trade worth as little as £2 million for the UEFA Youth League champion custodian from last season if Wolves move swiftly.

According to Transfermarkt, the Dutch custodian, who is now with AZ Alkmaar, has made nine appearances for their reserves in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie this season.

According to Keen, AZ and the young player are almost certain to sign a new deal, which will probably pique the curiosity of Wolves and Anderlecht in the Belgian division.

Is Owusu-Oduro a suitable substitute for Jose Sa?

Given the current disparity in skill and experience between Owusu-Oduro and Sa, Wolves selling Sa would not be the best move.

Owusu-Oduro is potential, but he is currently nothing near the amount of experience that Sa, a Portugal international, possesses at the top level.

But for under £2 million, we assume that a more seasoned keeper—possibly someone along the lines of Ramsdale—would also be brought in in addition to the young player.

Given that Sa wouldn’t be a straight successor, this move looks very much like one that would be for the future and hence probably unconnected to Sa’s future.
