Great News: Stoke City 2-1 Plymouth Argyle: Adam Randell’s goal in the 97th minute gives the Pilgrims the victory

At Home Park, Argyle overcame a deficit to defeat Stoke 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Adam Randell, a teenage midfielder for Plymouth.

In the seventh minute of stoppage time, substitute Callum Wright’s cross from the left created a goalmouth scramble that resulted in Stoke clearing Luke Cundle’s shot off the line. Randell then slammed the ball home.

Tyrese Campbell had put Stoke ahead, but Mustapha Bundu pulled the team back before halftime. Then, because to Randell’s late heroics, Plymouth overtook Stoke and moved up to 16th place in the Championship standings.

Midfielder Cundle gave Argyle a strong start, pushing Stoke custodian Jack Bonham into a save in the second minute.

Finn Azaz, another playmaker, was set up by top scorer Morgan Whittaker on the outside of the penalty box, but his effort went narrowly wide.

After Ki-Jana Hoever’s seventh-minute free kick, Stoke counterattack, and Ciaran Clark’s header forced Plymouth custodian Michael Cooper to make a save.

Then, as Stoke began to press, Hoever crossed for Campbell to head narrowly over.

After running onMustapha Bundu off to a good start at Plymouth Argyle says Steven  Schumacher - Plymouth Live to a through pass and letting fire from the outside of the box, Ryan Mmaee’s effort was deflected wide in the 17th minute. Stoke’s pressure eventually paid off as they seized the lead in the 23rd minute because to some shoddy Plymouth defending.

The dynamic Campbell raced central defender Lewis Gibson to the ball after a careless back pass. He made no errors, drawing out Cooper before side-footing beyond the custodian into the goal’s corner.

On the following assault, Bae Junho had the opportunity to double Stoke’s advantage, but his shot went high and wide.

After thirty minutes, his ball found Andre Vidigal down the right, but the winger missed the target with an angled effort from just inside the box.

When Finn Azaz sent in the excellent Kaine Kesler-Hayden down the right, Plymouth tied the score in the 43rd minute.

Bundu, who let the ball go across his body before finishing with his left foot beyond Bonham, masterfully turned the wing-back’s nimble near-post cross into the roof of the goal.

At the beginning of the second half, Bundu missed a well-placed shot, and Cooper made a great stop with his feet when Mmaee again slipped past the Argyle defenders.

Following a 68-minute play, Azaz contorted on the outside of the penalty area before passing over the defenders to Cundle, whose angled goal-bound attempt was well stopped by Bonham.

Fit once more In the 84th minute, Ryan Hardie, a striker from Scotland, nearly gave Argyle the lead when he glanced a header just past the near post from Randell’s inswinging corner from the left.

Shortly after, Hardie almost doubled Argyle’s lead again, this time by latching onto a through ball from Azaz and blasting just past the angle of post and bar, following some excellent work from replacement Wright to build up the opportunity.

After Bonham mishandled Wright’s left-wing cross in the opening minute of injury time, City managed to remove the threat, but Randell scored a late winner.
