Darragh Lenihan’s replacement at Middlesbrough might be Joe Worrall, the captain of Nottingham Forest.

Lenihan was lost by Boro manager Michael Carrick after the defender had surgery on his ankle and would be sidelined for an extended amount of time. The Sun claims that the team is looking to add a center-half in the January transfer window, preferably on a loan.

In contrast, Worrall has not appeared in either of Forest’s last four league games. He did not play the previous time he was named in Steve Cooper’s matchday squad, which was back in October against Liverpool.

“In their sights” is also Charlie Cresswell of Leeds, according to The Sun. Leeds might not let him to join a contender for promotion, though. Despite having a rough start to the season, Boro is still just three points behind sixth-place Hull City in 12th place.

Worrall joined the club at the age of 14, and since then, he has been on Forest’s roster since 2011. The previous season, he was chosen the Reds’ captain.
