Tyler Herro’s return date has not been made public by the Miami Heat, but a new report indicates that it may happen this week.

When the Miami Heat play the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night, Tyler Herro will miss his 16th straight game due to a sprained right ankle. However, a report indicates that he may return to the starting lineup soon.

Herro injured his right ankle during a game against Memphis on November 9 and has been spotted shooting around after practices without any obvious braces or wraps. Before getting injured, he was averaging career highs in points (25.3), rebounds (5.6), and assists (5.0) in seven games.

The Heat will host the Chicago Bulls on Thursday and Saturday following their game against the Hornets on Wednesday. Their four-game homestand against the Minnesota Timberwolves concludes on Monday.

Miami’s offence, which is 13th in offensive rating but has allowed opponents to score 2.8 points more per game in the fourth quarter this year, would benefit from Herro’s return. Over the past three seasons, Herro has been one of the Heat’s top scorers in crunch time.
