After playing the entire 90 minutes, 27-year-old Bowen was seen staggering off the field due to an injury he sustained during the Hammers’ 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers on Saturday in the FA Cup third round.

The England international scored West Ham’s sole goal of the game, but he is now expected to miss several weeks due to injury.

According to TalkSPORT, Bowen might miss a “lengthy” period of time, putting his spot in England’s selection for the 2024 Euros in jeopardy. Furthermore, his accident occurred at the worst possible time for David Moyes.

The West Ham boss is already without Michail Antonio and Lucas Paqueta due to injuries, and fellow star forward Mohammed Kudus is presently on international duty with Ghana for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

In an attempt to strengthen its attacking options, West Ham is reportedly interested in signing Sunderland star Jack Clarke, according to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports.

But as Clarke has a contract with the Stadium of Light through 2026, the Black Cats are not under any obligation to let him leave.

But considering his performance this season, West Ham’s interest won’t be shocking.

The former Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur winger is now Sunderland’s highest goal scorer across all competitions with 12 goals and 2 assists in 26 Championship games in 2023–24.

After Amad Diallo’s loan stint with the team ended, the 23-year-old stepped up and has been Sunderland’s best player thus far this season. While Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid sensation’s brother, may have drawn more attention from high-profile transfer agencies, Clarke has drawn interest from teams all throughout England, including West Ham.

Although Clarke is a specialist left winger, Bowen usually plays on the right flank or across the middle, thus the Sunderland player might fit in better thanks to Paqueta and Kudus’ adaptability.
