Signings are going to be on the agenda again for Farke and the club’s hierarchy, and matters on the pitch during the second half of the campaign could be dictated by what is to come in the market.

With that in mind, here we look at some of the latest transfer news and biggest headlines coming out of Elland Road in the meantime.

Southampton, Sheffield United, and Rangers join Leeds in race for Ben Johnson

This month, Southampton will compete with Leeds for West Ham United defender Ben Johnson.

Football Insider claims that the 23-year-old may leave the London Stadium on loan before the transfer deadline on February 1st.

According to Phil Hay of The Athletic, Leeds is interested in acquiring the full-back this month. However, other rumors indicate that Sheffield United is also interested in acquiring Johnson as they strive to stay in the top division.

The Scottish powerhouse Rangers is also eager to sign the Hammers defender.

Joe Gelhardt is coveted by West Bromwich Albion

The most recent Championship team to express interest in Leeds’ Joe Gelhardt is West Bromwich Albion.

The Leeds young player is eager to join the Baggies this month, according to Alan Nixon via Patreon. Carlos Corberan, the manager, has experience with the player from his time as Elland Road’s assistant manager.

The 21-year-old is apparently eager to be loaned to Albion, but Nixon says Leeds wants to pay his salary in full should he go to a possible contender for promotion.

As a matter of fact, the Leeds forward is drawing a lot of interest thus far. In recent weeks, Plymouth Argyle and Blackburn Rovers have both been mentioned in connection with Gelhardt.
