Kevin Stefanski made a Joe Flacco decision after the Browns got decimated by the Rams led by Matthew Stafford.
Deshaun Watson’s successor is still being sought after by Kevin Stefanski. While Joe Flacco appeared to be the solution, Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams soon put an end to it. The Cleveland Browns’ offensive problems have now grown more severe as they attempt to make the playoffs. They did react with a much-needed shift.
Joe Flacco is headed back to the Browns practice squad, per Tyler Greenawalt of USA Today. The quarterback got outgunned by Matthew Stafford and now has to step up. He got moved around in the pocket by the Rams secondary as well which did not bode well for most fans. However, this move is just for formalities.
Flacco might still be the starter for the Kevin Stefanski-led squad before Deshaun Watson is able to return. However, he does have competition with a blazing-hot quarterback who goes by the name of Doran Thompson-Robinson. The only concern would be for him to get cleared by the league’s concussion protocol.
So far, Flacco needs to improve his accuracy from the pocket. The Browns’ offensive engine was struggling by only darting 23 completions on 44 passing attempts. 21 misses might prove to be a sign of grit and not giving up but for some, it will be seen as inefficiency. A bright side is his ability to pass into the end zone. He sent two passes for a touchdown which kept the game close in the earlier periods. But, this is all pulled back by an interception.
Overall, the Browns still have a problem at quarterback and just need to hang on until one of their offensive engines returns.
