The Whites are planning to let go of one of Bielsa’s acquisitions in January.
KEYSIGHTS
To help teenage winger Sean McGurk improve and get more first-team experience, Leeds United intends to send him out on loan.
Despite spending two years at Leeds, McGurk has not yet made his league debut. He has, though, demonstrated promise at the young level, netting three goals in six Premier League 2 games.
Leeds is willing to discuss loaning McGurk to a team that can provide him enough playing time and the proper atmosphere for him to grow. They are also open to proposals from other teams.
Leeds United allowed several loan exits for their young players in addition to the majority of players they were obliged to let go after their Premier League relegation.
Sam Greenwood and Sonny Perkins signed with Middlesbrough and Oxford United, respectively. Greenwood has a contentious £1.5 million option to purchase, which may result in his permanent transfer to the Boro next season.
More than anything, Cody Drameh’s loan out has signaled the end of his Whites career. Meanwhile, Darko Gyabi, unable to leave during the summer, appears ready for a January move.
But according to Alan Nixon’s latest Patreon report, Leeds also want to send away teenage winger Sean McGurk, so he’s not the only player who may go on loan in the upcoming months.
Who is Sean McGurk of Leeds United? The winger has been with the Whites for two years after Marcelo Bielsa signed him from Wigan Athletic in 2021. He hasn’t played much at Elland Road and is still waiting for his league debut, though he did play in an EFL Trophy match against Bolton Wanderers last season. Nevertheless, the 20-year-old prospect has shown promise at the youth level and has been in impressive form for the Whites so far, scoring three goals and dishing out three assists in six Premier League 2 matches.
Is Sean McGurk heading out of Leeds?
According to the report, Leeds is considering sending McGurk on loan since he isn’t getting any playing time under Daniel Farke in the starting lineup.
Nixon clarifies that they’re open to proposals from the correct club, so prospective bidders would probably need to provide the ideal setting for his growth to be furthered in addition to offering sufficient guarantees about his playing time. However, they won’t just ship him somewhere.
