All of the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours wrapped up
Newcastle linked with cut-price move for Lille defender Tiago Djalo
Newcastle United have routinely been linked with a move for Lille defender Tiago Djalo but a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered back in March put paid to any summer speculation materialsing into something more concrete.
The 23-year-old is yet to return to action for the French side but could be available in the January transfer window for as little as €5m.
Djalo is out of contract at the end of the season and, according to Calcio Mercato, has told Lille he wants to leave the club in the January transfer window.
Inter Milan and Newcastle are said to be interested in a deal and given he would come at a cut-price fee, it could well prove to be a bargain piece of business both clubs will be interested in.
Keylor Navas could enter Newcastle thinking
Newcastle United’s goalkeeper situation could lead them to enter the loan market during the January transfer window. Nick Pope is expected to be out for around four months with a shoulder injury, while Martin Dubravka is also suffering from a shoulder complaint, after deputising for Pope in the last two league matches.
As such, United have been linked with moves for the likes of former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, as well as Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale and Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris.
However, PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas has emerged as another option for the Magpies according to the Mirror. The 36-year-old is currently playing second choice to Gianluigi Donnarumma at the Parc des Princes and enjoyed a successful loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season.
The former Real Madrid goalkeeper, who has won the Champions League three times, is out of contract at the end of the season and a loan deal until the end of the season could suit all parties.
