Roosters Promote Club Legend Mitch Aubusson to Football Operations Boss
The Sydney Roosters have appointed club legend Mitch Aubusson as their new Football Operations Boss. Aubusson, who played 306 games for the Roosters over a 14-year career, is stepping into a key administrative role, further strengthening his connection to the club where he became a fan favorite.
Aubusson’s promotion follows a successful transition from player to staff, where he’s been involved in various capacities since his retirement in 2020. His vast experience on the field and deep understanding of the Roosters’ culture make him an ideal candidate to oversee the football department. As Football Operations Boss, Aubusson will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, working closely with coaching staff, and ensuring the team’s strategic goals are met.
Roosters CEO Joe Kelly expressed confidence in Aubusson’s ability to succeed in this new role. “Mitch has always been a leader both on and off the field. His dedication to the Roosters is unparalleled, and we know he’ll bring that same commitment and insight to this important position,” Kelly said.
Aubusson, in turn, expressed excitement about the opportunity. “The Roosters have been my life for many years, and I’m thrilled to take on this new challenge. I look forward to working with the team to continue building on our proud tradition and helping the club achieve even greater success,” he stated.
The Roosters’ decision to promote one of their most decorated players reflects their belief in maintaining a strong internal culture, with the club hopeful that Aubusson’s leadership will bring continued success.
