- Our ECHO writers suggest their best Everton XI if all players are completely healthy, as Sean Dyche may face a number of difficult selection decisions.
- What is Sean Dyche’s strongest 11 right now, assuming he has access to his entire squad? Members of the ECHO sportsdesk weigh in as Everton hopes to receive more players back following the international break.
Calvert-Lewin could face a significant threat from Chris Beesley-Beto.
When everyone is healthy, especially suddenly in attacking areas, manager Sean Dyche will be heartened by the fact that there are some real selection difficulties in a number of places of the field given how small Everton’s squad is.
When it comes to leading the line, Beto’s £25.8 million move to Goodison Park might be a game-changer because, like fellow 6ft 4in Portuguese target man Youssef Chermiti, he is a far better like-for-like replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin than the diminutive Neal Maupay could ever be. Beto could pose a real danger to unseating the number one spot given the hefty amount that Everton paid to Udinese for his talents and his immediate effect (scoring against Doncaster Rovers the day after joining).

Even though Demarai Gray and i Alex Iwob left six days after the English transfer window closed, Arnaut Danjuma scored in both of Everton’s most recent games, Dwight McNeil made his season debut off the bench against Sheffield United, and Jack Harrison is still on the way, Dyche still has options out wide. To keep the present midfield trio of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Amadou Onana, and Idrissa Gueye on their toes, James Garner might fight for a spot in his preferred central midfield position once the Blues have all of their wide players available.
Even the always dependable James Tarkowski, the only Premier League player to have played for the past few weeks, has been questioned recently about his ability at center-back.
Pickford, Coleman, Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Gueye, Onana, Doucoure, McNeil, Danjuma, and Beto make up my strongest Everton 11.Most of Sean Dyche’s starting lineup is self-evident. With good reason, Jordan Pickford is England’s starting goalkeeper and is possibly more important to this team’s season than any other player. Ashley Young, in my opinion, is a little more superior to Vitalii Mykolenko at left back and a better fit at right back. Nathan Patterson has improved offensively and has made several beautiful balls into the box, like the one that set up Arnaut Danjuma’s goal against Sheffield United, although Seamus Coleman likely outperforms him. One of the more popular topics of discussion on this issue is the defensive duel between Ben Godfrey, Jarrad Branthwaite, and James Tarkowski, who starts in the middle of the defense. Branthwaite presently has the advantage following two strong outings since joining the team. Whether
Equally challenging is the wide position, where Dwight McNeil, Arnaut Danjuma, and Jack Harrison are all likely to be considered first-choice choices when healthy.
Not to mention Dele. It would be amazing to see him become fit again and return to being the player he was at Tottenham Hotspur, or at least close to it, after his courageous and open interview prior to the start of the season.
Pickford; Coleman; Tarkowski; Branthwaite; Young; McNeil; Onana; are the members of my strongest Everton XI.
