The agent of Ridvan Yilmaz has jetted into Glasgow for crunch talks with Rangers.
That’s the latest coming out of Turkey, with journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claiming the player’s management are “not very happy” about Ridvan’s playing time.
Ridvan Yilmaz has seen the first year or so in Glasgow badly interrupted by injury whilst the left-back also hasn’t been included in Rangers’ Europa League squad.
As a result, Ridvan Yilmaz’s agent Necdet Ergezen apparently travelled to Scotland to meet with Rangers and discuss the Turkey international’s future.
“Rıdvan Yılmaz’s manager Necdet Ergezen went to Scotland to meet with Rangers,” tweeted Sabuncuoglu.
“They are not very happy with Rıdvan’s playing stability. There will be a meeting between the parties regarding the future of the player.”
Agent jets in for Ridvan Yilmaz talks
The agent claims come at an interesting time for Ridvan Yilmaz, who has been a bit-part player in the Rangers squad so far this season.
Having come into the campaign after missing out on the bulk of last season, there were real hopes that the left-back could make the berth his own.
But under Michael Beale and now Philippe Clement, Croatia international Borna Barisic has been the club’s preferred option in the position.
Signed on a reported £3.4m rising to £5m deal in the summer of 2022, so far the move hasn’t worked out and the 22-year-old is approaching a key moment in his career.
Galatasaray linked to Rangers talent
The agent story also comes after Ridvan Yilmaz was linked with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray in the country’s press.
In a discussion on Turkish outlet Sports Digitale, it’s being claimed that Galatasaray hold a legitimate interest in the former Bestikas left-back.
An excerpt from the discussion said:
“Rıdvan Yılmaz, who transferred to Rangers after earning 4 million Euros from Beşiktaş, could not find exactly what he wanted in Scotland.
“Recently, it has been learned that Rıdvan Yılmaz may return to the Super League. It is among the news that Galatasaray especially wants to add him to its squad.”
Ridvan Yilmaz has made 23 appearances for Rangers, scoring one goal and laying on three assists.
